Without an Umbrella |
I am Meghan! I'm a seventeen year old servant for Jesus and I can't wait to see what his plan is for our lifetimes. I enjoy editting photographs and writing poems. Now and again I may offer a snippit of my view of life. Throw away your umbrella, guys! Feel and taste and live the rain. Learn how to absorb it, and how to refresh others with it. |
An unsent reply to a letter
Is a weight upon my back.
A cold and chilling weight I can’t escape,
Until it’s sent.
All month long it lies around
but I just cannot find the time
To give it life and send it on it’s way
Across the world.
A floating slip of paper,
Flying up to up across the ocean,
Sea, out of my heart
And out of sight.
Questions remain unanswered,
Friendship sparks from brakes,
Which squeal against my heart,
Which thunders on.
Unfelt reply to a question.
Stalling to find peace
Amongst these breaks which
Come around, eyes on your face.
A smiling, though strange, question…
“Do you still wear the jewels I bought for you?”
I say “I do.” with question eyes
But no replies. A quick embrace
And I am on my way for some more weeks
Into silence…
Into escapes…
And into prayer, that I may know just how long
To wear these pretty jewels he chose for me.
To set them free, to send the letter,
To say goodbye.
